Overview
This position is for a legal professional based in Brazil specializing in Digital Law and Civil Procedural Litigation. The role involves managing complex corporate litigation cases within a technology-driven environment, combining expertise in civil litigation with emerging areas such as digital law, privacy, data protection, and online platforms.
Responsibilities
- Manage a high-volume portfolio of civil litigation cases with structured tracking and strategic organization.
- Draft legal documents including initial petitions, defenses, appeals, and other procedural filings.
- Monitor deadlines and oversee the full lifecycle of legal proceedings.
- Develop and implement litigation strategies aligned with clients' business needs and risk profiles.
- Maintain direct communication with corporate clients to provide updates and align expectations.
- Handle cases involving civil liability, consumer law, digital platforms, internet regulation, privacy, and data protection legislation.
- Participate in negotiations, settlements, and agreements to achieve effective resolutions.
Requirements
- Active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
- Strong knowledge of Civil Procedural Law and litigation practices.
- Experience managing multiple legal proceedings independently with accountability.
- Intermediate proficiency in English, especially for legal reading and written communication.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to deadlines and ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Interest or experience in digital law and technology-related matters.
- Previous experience supporting multinational clients or technology companies is a plus.
- Familiarity with structured workflows, performance indicators, and KPI-based legal portfolio management is desirable.
