Overview

The organization is seeking a part-time ABS Compliance Counsel for an established Arizona ABS. This role can be performed fully remotely.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience serving as ABS Compliance Counsel, familiarity with the regulatory compliance responsibilities of the role, and be an active member in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona.

This is a contract in-house counsel engagement through the hiring organization, with long-term engagement and/or direct-hire potential.

Responsibilities

  • Provide regulatory compliance support for the ABS
  • Oversee conflicts
  • Draft, review, and manage engagement letters
  • Conduct semi-annual compliance audits
  • Support additional substantive contracting work if desired (commercial and IT/tech contracting experience may qualify candidates for a more robust role)

Requirements

  • Experience serving as Compliance Counsel for an Arizona ABS
  • Experience with regulatory compliance in other areas will also be considered
  • Familiarity with commercial and IT/tech contracts is a plus
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Licensed to practice law in AZ
  • Outstanding professional references

Position Details

  • Role type: Contract In-House Counsel
  • Schedule: Part-time (approximately 5–10 hours/week for compliance duties; can be significantly higher if interested in substantive contracting work)
  • Location: Remote

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $200,000 - $220,000 when calculated on a full-time basis.
  • Contract engagement pay: Based on multiple factors, including work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate).
