Overview
An established Arizona ABS is seeking a part-time ABS Compliance Counsel to provide regulatory compliance support on a fully remote basis.
This role involves overseeing compliance for the ABS, managing conflicts and engagement letters, and conducting semi-annual compliance audits. Candidates with experience serving as ABS Compliance Counsel are preferred. Additional commercial and IT/tech contracting experience may qualify for consideration for a more robust role that includes substantive legal work.
Responsibilities
- Provide regulatory compliance support for the ABS
- Oversee conflicts
- Draft, manage, and administer engagement letters
- Conduct semi-annual compliance audits
- Support additional substantive legal work if desired and based on experience (commercial and IT contracting experience considered)
Requirements
- Experience serving as Compliance Counsel for an Arizona ABS
- Candidates with deep compliance experience in other areas will also be considered
- Strong analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Licensed to practice law in AZ
- Outstanding professional references

- Experience with commercial and IT/tech contracts
Position Details
- Type of role: Contract In-House Counsel
- Schedule: Part-time (approximately 5-10 hours/week for compliance duties; can be significantly higher if interested in substantive contracting work)
- Location: Remote
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $200,000 - $220,000 when calculated on a full-time basis.
- Contract engagement pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
