Overview
A global cybersecurity leader is seeking a seasoned commercial attorney and manager to join their legal team. This role supports licensing and partnership deals across all channels, alliances, and strategic partners worldwide, including GSIs, cloud hyperscalers, MSSPs, OEMs, and technology alliance partners. The position combines individual contributor responsibilities with hands-on management to scale the alliance legal team in line with rapid company growth while driving deal closure.
Location: Remote; West Coast preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of attorneys, ensuring alignment with strategic alliance goals and high performance.
- Act as a player/coach by actively negotiating and drafting complex licensing and partnership agreements when needed.
- Provide strategic legal counsel on business initiatives and go-to-market strategies.
- Identify and analyze legal risks, assess business impact, and propose practical solutions to keep deals progressing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including alliances, operations, and finance to develop processes, establish new partner programs, and drive deal closure.
- Communicate complex legal issues clearly and concisely to senior executives and partner leadership, both verbally and in writing.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience, including at least 3 years in an in-house leadership role.
- Proven experience negotiating and drafting complex channel and partner agreements.
- Familiarity with cloud marketplace contracting structures such as AWS Marketplace, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Demonstrated ability to scale legal resources in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience managing 2–5 attorneys in a player/coach model.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal risks against business objectives.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of briefing executives and partner leadership clearly.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with a state bar.
- Willingness to travel periodically (estimated 10-15%) to support partner relationships, deal negotiations, and internal meetings.
- Proven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and drive business outcomes.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range for U.S. candidates: $210,000 - $300,000 per year.
