Overview
A leading organization in the Hospitals & Medical Centers sector is seeking an Assistant General Counsel specializing in MSO Privacy, Responsible Data, and Technology. This role focuses on initiatives that combine scalable technology, AI-enabled capabilities, and business transformation. The position involves collaboration across engineering, product, and business teams to translate complex legal and technical requirements into practical technology solutions. The role offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term innovation within a healthcare environment.
Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $156,300 – $241,010 annually
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead counsel for MSO data privacy and cybersecurity matters
- Advise MSO business owners on legal requirements related to data-based offerings
- Draft and negotiate privacy and security contractual terms and agreements
- Collaborate with technology teams to support MSO security needs
- Lead legal activities related to incident preparedness and response
- Support governance and reporting for MSO transactions
- Maintain strong relationships with MSO stakeholders across various functions
Requirements
- Minimum of 9 years of legal experience in data governance and cybersecurity
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution and admission to a U.S. state bar
- Experience advising on HIPAA, state privacy laws, and cybersecurity regulations
- Strong project management skills within a healthcare setting
- Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with other legal professionals
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, NIST CSF/800-53, HITRUST, and AI regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as intrusion detection systems and SIEM tools
- Experience with data management platforms including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
- Competence in legal research databases like Westlaw and LexisNexis
