Overview
A leading business solutions provider for facility-based physicians in anesthesia, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, pathology, and radiology is seeking an Assistant General Counsel. The organization specializes in Revenue Cycle Management and partners with private practices, hospitals, health systems, and ambulatory surgery centers to deliver transparent, data-driven solutions addressing complex revenue and reimbursement challenges.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic legal advice and recommendations to executive leadership on a variety of legal issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of strategic contracts, including client services, vendor, and technology-related agreements.
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks in contracts, ensuring alignment with organizational policies and objectives.
- Manage and resolve contract disputes and litigation matters, coordinating with external counsel as necessary.
- Support other legal areas such as domestic and global corporate governance, employment matters, and mergers and acquisitions.
- Mentor and guide members of the legal department and related teams.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in good standing under the state bar of the attorney’s work location.
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant legal experience, including experience with multinational companies and within healthcare or healthcare-adjacent industries.
- Superior verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex legal issues to senior leadership.
- Excellent judgment and analytical skills to resolve legal and business issues efficiently.
- Strong knowledge of legal negotiation tactics and contract management.
- Proactive, responsive, and customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure, managing significant workloads and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with contract management software and related technology tools.
- Thorough understanding of HIPAA, privacy laws, and information security considerations related to contracting.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skill set, experience, and qualifications.
- Eligibility for a discretionary incentive bonus in accordance with organizational policies.
