Overview
A leading organization in the Information Technology sector is seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Security Services. This role involves driving impact across key initiatives, partnering cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes, and working closely with stakeholders to execute strategic priorities and scale performance. The position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution within a high-growth environment.
Location: Remote (US-based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)
Compensation: $190,000 – $260,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including customer and vendor contracts
- Advise on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues throughout the product lifecycle
- Review marketing materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws and brand guidelines
- Provide legal and compliance guidance to the Security team and other stakeholders
- Build relationships across the organization to deliver practical, business-focused legal support
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to at least one US state bar
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant legal experience, with a focus on commercial transactions or technology
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Strong business judgment with a practical, solutions-oriented approach
- Excellent communication, drafting, and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in insurtech, cybersecurity, SaaS, or financial services sectors
- Familiarity with privacy and data security laws such as CAN-SPAM and TCPA
- Prior in-house legal experience supporting growth-stage companies
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks including GDPR and CCPA, particularly related to cybersecurity products
- Experience with SaaS contract management tools or platforms
- Understanding of intellectual property protection tools and methods, including collaboration with marketing counsel to protect IP portfolios
