Overview
A creditors’ rights law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Oklahoma practice. This is a state-level attorney position requiring admission to the Oklahoma Bar. The role involves reviewing information at the placement of files to determine collection eligibility and handling Oklahoma litigation work.
Responsibilities
- Manage full litigation responsibilities including reviewing correspondence and files to assess suit appropriateness
- Review answers, prepare discovery, dispositive motions, and conduct trials and hearings
- Apply knowledge of post-judgment remedies such as attachment and garnishment
- Stay informed on state and federal consumer laws and any changes in state or local rules
- Manage a high-volume docket of civil litigation cases related to debt collection through all litigation phases, from commencement through post-judgment actions
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (law degree)
- Admission to the Oklahoma Bar
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent the organization positively to the public
- Ability to prioritize and organize a high volume of information
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all organizational levels
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a general litigation attorney
- Experience in creditors’ rights litigation
- Experience in appellate court and/or federal court
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
- Frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands for typing and handling objects
- Regular standing and walking; occasional bending or reaching above the shoulders
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
Work Environment
Schedule
- Full-time, 8-hour shift Monday through Friday with flexibility to support business needs

- Salary range: $75,000 to $80,000 per year
