Overview

This is a remote Attorney position requiring the candidate to be based in the State of Michigan and licensed to practice law there. The role involves providing legal services primarily in creditors’ rights and real estate law, with a focus on foreclosure and litigation matters. Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in all stages of the foreclosure process, including contested foreclosures
  • Review all conditions precedent to filing actions, including loan documents, financials, and demand letters
  • Draft and review legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence related to foreclosure actions
  • Conduct legal research and analysis of statutes, case law, regulatory, and servicing requirements
  • Attend court hearings and communicate with opposing counsel
  • Maintain and update internal client systems with findings, documentation, and recommendations
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all work
  • Manage a high volume of work to meet firm, client, investor, and court deadlines
  • Use firm and client systems to track and meet all applicable deadlines
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections laws as applicable

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • Admission to the Michigan State Bar (required)
  • Admission to federal and bankruptcy courts in Michigan (preferred)
  • Prior foreclosure and litigation experience (strongly preferred)
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Experience with electronic case management and client systems (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloads
  • Ability to work independently
  • Basic knowledge of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control principles (strongly preferred)
