Overview
A national litigation firm with nearly 40 years of experience is seeking a Senior Associate to join its First Party Insurance Practice Group. While the team is based in Austin, Texas, the successful candidate may be located anywhere within Texas and work remotely as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manage an active first-party litigation docket from inception through resolution.
- Handle caseload autonomously through all phases of litigation, with support and strategic guidance from managing partners and other attorneys as needed.
- Defend first-party bad faith lawsuits involving:
- Commercial Property, Business Income, and other commercial coverages
- Residential property
- Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist (UM/UIM) coverage
- Stowers, excess judgment, and other coverage disputes
- Develop and execute litigation strategies in partnership with client representatives from large, national insurance carriers.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication, responsiveness, and results.
Requirements
- Active license to practice law in Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience litigating first-party insurance disputes, preferably involving property coverages.
- Excellent skills in legal research, writing, litigation strategy, and advocacy.
- Extensive experience drafting pleadings, motions, written discovery, and client reports related to insurance disputes.
- Experience with depositions, hearing attendance, settlement discussions, and all other litigation phases through final resolution.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with confidence to lead cases while valuing collaboration with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with sophisticated client representatives from large, national insurance carriers.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective litigation strategies.

- Target base salary starting at $165,000+, commensurate with experience.
