Overview
An established national litigation firm specializing in insurance defense is seeking an Associate Attorney with an active California bar license. The firm is recognized for its innovative approach to trial advocacy and commitment to achieving outstanding results in complex insurance defense cases.
Responsibilities
- Develop effective case strategies that focus on results and cut through emotional arguments
- Maintain high standards of excellence in all legal work
- Independently manage court appearances, depositions, motion practice, and trials
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff across experience levels
- Communicate professionally and consistently with clients
- Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective clients
- Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team development
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar license in the State of California
- 1 to 8 years of litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation
- Ability to independently manage a full caseload from discovery through trial
- Prior insurance defense experience preferred
- Familiarity with litigation timekeeping and billing systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $115,000 to $160,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus starting at $10,000, with additional bonuses of $7,500 for each higher tier
