Overview
A consumer protection law firm based in the Financial District of New York City is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join their practice in Virginia. The firm represents consumers who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of legal issues related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters.

Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Virginia
- Communicate with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
- Travel may be required for court appearances
- Coordinate with the main office via telephone and electronic communication (e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Virginia is required; multiple-state admission is a significant plus
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels
- Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
