Overview
A creditor’s rights and civil litigation law firm based in Overland Park, KS, is seeking an Associate Attorney licensed and residing in Colorado. This is a remote position with occasional travel to the Overland Park, KS office for training and meetings. Candidates must live in Colorado. Holding a Kansas and/or Missouri license is preferred but not required. Candidates planning to take the Colorado Bar Exam in July may also be considered.
Full-time and part-time positions are available. Full-time hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Salary is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, settlement agreements, and other legal documents as needed
- Manage a fast-paced, high-volume workload, including timely responses to emails and voicemails
- Collaborate closely with support staff and other attorneys to maximize efficiency
- Communicate professionally and respectfully with clients, opposing counsel, and pro se litigants
- Exercise independent judgment regarding case progress and resolution
- Make weekly court appearances, including travel, for dockets, motion hearings, and trials
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned by partners
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in Colorado and residing in Colorado
- Ability to work during minimum office hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for full-time)
- Strong drafting and communication skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload
- Willingness to travel for court appearances
Preferred Qualifications
- Admission to Kansas and/or Missouri Bar is preferred but not required
- Candidates planning to take the Colorado Bar Exam in July will be considered
