Location: Remote (Dallas, Texas area)

Compensation: $90,000 / year

This role supports consumers in matters involving harassment or deception by creditors and debt collectors. Responsibilities include drafting, legal research, client and opposing-party communication, and managing a heavy, diversified caseload in Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and supervise a heavy, diversified caseload for clients in Texas
  • Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements, etc.
  • Communicate with opposing parties to resolve/settle claims
  • Conduct legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
  • Work remotely, with a requirement to travel for in-court appearances
  • Communicate with the main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

Requirements

  • Candidates should be currently located within the Dallas, TX area to be considered for this role.
  • Must be currently admitted to practice law in Texas
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels
  • Strong legal research skills (proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus)

  • Proficiency in LexisNexis
