Overview
A Creditors’ Rights law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Alabama practice. This is a state-level attorney position requiring admission to the Alabama Bar. The role focuses on reviewing information at file placement to determine collection eligibility and handling Alabama litigation work.
Responsibilities
- Review correspondence and files to determine if suit is appropriate
- Review answers and prepare discovery and dispositive motions
- Manage all aspects of trial preparation and conduct trials
- Attend court hearings throughout Alabama
- Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks
- Represent clients in pre-suit and post-judgment matters
- Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Admission to the Alabama Bar
- JD in law
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a general litigation attorney with a background in civil litigation and court proceedings
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws with experience in collection law and/or significant courtroom experience
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
- Ability to prioritize and organize a high volume of information
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels
- Maintenance of professional appearance and positive public image
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law, and/or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus
- Preferable location: Birmingham or Huntsville, Alabama
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands to type, handle, or touch objects
- Regularly required to stand, walk, stop, bend, or reach above the shoulders
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Schedule
- Full-time, 8-hour shift Monday through Friday with flexibility to support business needs
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $80,000 to $85,000 per year
