Overview
An established debt collection law firm with over 30 years of experience and multiple offices across Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, and Wisconsin is seeking an Associate Attorney. The firm represents many of the nation’s largest financial institutions.
Responsibilities
- Appear in court as needed
- Review new claims to ensure compliance
- Review and approve pleadings such as complaints and motions before filing
- Draft motions and responses to contested matters occasionally
- Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations
- Manage telephonic and written communications with opposing counsel
- Prepare and respond to discovery; oversee counterclaims involving the firm or clients
Requirements
Education and Experience
- Juris Doctorate degree
- Admission to the Arkansas Bar required; additional licenses in other states where the firm operates are valuable
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience with Collection Master or similar case file management systems preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse staff, judges, opposing counsel, and court clerks
- Use tact, discretion, and courtesy in professional interactions
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, maintain accurate records, and pay close attention to detail
