Associate Attorney (Massachusetts)
The employer seeks a full-time Associate Attorney for Massachusetts. Because the firm’s headquarters are in New York, this position involves communicating with the main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
Candidates must be currently located in Haverhill, MA to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of the firm’s clients in Massachusetts
- Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements; and perform related drafting work
- Communicate with opposing parties to resolve and/or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
- Work from home while being required to travel for in-court appearances
Requirements
- Currently admitted to practice law in Massachusetts
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
- Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels
- Strong legal research skills (proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus)
