Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing clients who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney based in Hawaii. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal issues related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters, while collaborating remotely with the firm's main office located in New York.

Compensation: $90,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Hawaii
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Negotiate and communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues
- Attend court appearances as required (travel necessary despite remote work)
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Hawaii is mandatory
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management and colleagues at all levels
- Proficient legal research skills; experience with LexisNexis is a plus
