Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing consumers against harassment and deceptive practices by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney based in Hawaii. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload involving transactional and civil litigation matters related to consumer protection law. The position is remote with communication primarily through telephone and electronic means with the firm's headquarters located in New York City.

Compensation: $90,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Hawaii
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Negotiate and communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues
- Attend court appearances as required (may involve travel)
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Hawaii is mandatory; multiple-state admission is a strong plus
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and colleagues at all levels
- Proficient legal research skills; experience with LexisNexis is advantageous
