Overview
This role is for an attorney position focused on insurance defense and trial advocacy. The employer is seeking a motivated, courtroom-focused litigator to independently manage litigation matters and collaborate with attorneys and staff at all experience levels.
Please note: An active bar license in the State of Washington is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop compelling case strategies that drive results
- Independently manage court appearances, depositions, motion practice, and trials
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with clients
- Build and nurture relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff at all experience levels
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys
- Challenge mediocrity and push for excellence in all aspects of work
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar license in the state of Washington
- 3+ years of experience in insurance defense
- 1–8 years of solid litigation experience, including case strategy, depositions, and trial preparation
- Ability to independently manage a full caseload, from discovery through trial
- Familiarity with litigation timekeeping and billing systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated passion for trial work and exceptional client service
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior attorneys
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $100,000–145,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
- Annual billable hours bonus: $10,000 and then aggregating with $7,500 for every additional tier
