Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing clients who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join their practice in Kansas. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal issues related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Kansas
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Negotiate and communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
- Travel as required for court appearances, while primarily working remotely
Requirements
- Must be currently admitted to practice law in Kansas
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management and colleagues at all levels
- Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
- Candidates must be currently located in Kansas to be considered
