Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing clients who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney. The firm is based in the Financial District of New York City but this position is remote, focused on handling matters in Nevada.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diverse caseload of clients in Nevada.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their legal matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements.
- Negotiate and communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
- Conduct legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues.
- Attend court appearances as required, which may involve travel.
Communication with the main office will be conducted via telephone, email, and Microsoft Teams.
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Nevada is mandatory; admission in multiple states is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience.
- Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management and colleagues at all levels.
- Proficient legal research skills; experience with LexisNexis is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary of $90,000, competitive and commensurate with experience.
