Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing clients who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney. The firm is based in the Financial District of New York City but this position is for practice in Mississippi, with remote work and communication primarily via telephone and electronic means.

Compensation: $90,000 per year
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Mississippi
- Communicate with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues
- Travel may be required for court appearances despite the remote nature of the role
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Mississippi is mandatory
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with senior management and colleagues
- Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
