This position is for a full-time Associate Attorney to join a consumer protection practice. The role is based in Michigan and involves supporting clients in Michigan through a heavy and diversified caseload. While work is home-based, in-court travel is required.

Compensation: $90,000 / year

Department: Legal - Attorney

Location: Remote (Michigan; must be located in or within a commutable distance to Muskegon, MI)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Michigan
  • Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
  • Review and draft agreements
  • Communicate with opposing parties to resolve and/or settle claims
  • Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
  • Communicate with the main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
  • Travel for in-court appearances while working from home

Requirements

  • Currently admitted to practice law in Michigan
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
