Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing consumers against harassment and deceptive practices by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney. The firm is based in the Financial District of New York City but this position is remote, specifically for candidates located in New Hampshire.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diverse caseload of clients in New Hampshire
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Negotiate and communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues, both simple and complex
- Attend court appearances as required, which may involve travel
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in New Hampshire is mandatory
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with senior management and colleagues
- Proficient legal research skills; experience with LexisNexis is a plus
- Must currently reside in New Hampshire

- Annual salary of $90,000, competitive and commensurate with experience

Location
- Remote position requiring candidates to be located in New Hampshire
- Communication with the main office in New York will be conducted via telephone and electronic means (email, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
