Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing clients who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney. The firm is based in the Financial District of New York City but this position is remote and specifically for candidates located in New Hampshire.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diverse caseload of clients in New Hampshire
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Negotiate and communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues, both simple and complex
- Attend court appearances as required (travel from home-based location)
- Coordinate with the main office via telephone and electronic communication tools
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in New Hampshire is mandatory
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities
- High ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with senior management and colleagues
- Proficient legal research skills; experience with LexisNexis is a plus
- Must currently reside in New Hampshire
