Overview
A consumer protection law firm specializing in representing clients who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join their practice in New Mexico. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse caseload involving transactional and civil litigation matters related to consumer protection law.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in New Mexico.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding their legal matters.
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements.
- Negotiate and communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
- Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other consumer law areas.
- Travel as required for court appearances.
- Coordinate with the main office via telephone and electronic communication tools.
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in New Mexico is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
- High ethical standards and professional integrity.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management and colleagues at all levels.
- Proficiency in legal research; experience with LexisNexis is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
