Overview
This role is for an Associate Attorney to join the organization’s New York Evictions/Collections team.
- Location: Remote
- Travel: Court-related travel may be required
- Reports to: Managing Attorney
- Position type: (FLSA) Full-Time Exempt, Professional
- Pay range: $100,000 - $125,000 (range based on qualifications and experience)
Responsibilities
As an Associate Attorney for evictions, you will:
- Represent financial institutions in evictions and all related court proceedings.
- Manage case workflow and ensure compliance with client requirements, laws, and court rules.
- Draft and review motions, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Attend court hearings both in-person and virtually.
- Provide legal oversight and collaborate with support staff.
- Deliver responsive, client-focused legal services in a high-volume practice.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in New York (required).
- Strong legal writing, communication, and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and driven.
- Ability to work on computers for a significant portion of the day.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods.
- Ability to remain focused for extended periods.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements as required for positions (Typing, clicking, swiveling).
- Ability to multi-task.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of evictions experience (all qualified applicants considered).
- Experience working in a role focused on Evictions and/or Collections.
- Preferred: Multi-state licensure, bankruptcy or collections experience, federal licensure.
