Overview

A multi-state law firm specializing in legal services for depository and non-depository financial institutions is seeking a South Carolina Foreclosure Attorney. The firm emphasizes the use of technology to enhance workflow efficiencies with clients and business partners. This role involves handling uncontested and contested foreclosure litigation actions, with potential involvement in bankruptcy and eviction matters.

This is a remote position; however, in-person attendance at courts throughout South Carolina is required.

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients at mediations, hearings, trials, and other assigned duties
  • Prepare and draft pleadings, correspondence, and motions
  • Analyze and review complaints, motions, various legal documents, and final judgments
  • Conduct legal research
  • Provide legal analysis and communicate case matters to clients
  • Deliver excellent customer service and legal representation to internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform other duties and special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate
  • Member in good standing of the South Carolina State Bar with all necessary licensing maintained
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience
  • Experience in uncontested and contested foreclosure litigation required
  • Circuit court/master in equity trial experience is desirable
  • Residency in South Carolina preferred, especially in or near Columbia, Florence, or Charleston
  • Ability to attend in-person court hearings throughout the state despite remote work
  • Flexible schedule with availability to work 20-25 hours per week; additional hours possible
  • Part-time position with this firm as the primary law firm employer
