The organization provides consumer protection representation to individuals who have been harassed or otherwise deceived by creditors and debt collectors. This full-time Associate Attorney role supports a practice in Illinois.

Eligibility / Location Requirements

Candidates should be located in or within a commutable distance to Springfield, IL to be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Illinois.
  • Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
  • Review and draft agreements.
  • Communicate with opposing parties to resolve and/or settle claims.
  • Conduct legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
  • Work remotely from home, with travel required for in-court appearances.

Requirements

  • Currently admitted to practice law in Illinois.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels.
  • Strong legal research skills (proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus).
