Overview
A Creditor's Rights law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Pennsylvania practice. This is a state-level attorney position requiring admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar. The role involves attending court, signing pleadings, settling cases, and performing various attorney tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate will manage all aspects of litigation, handle a personal caseload, and be open to work-related travel.
Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload involving debt collection litigation.
- Review correspondence and case files to assess appropriateness.
- Prepare answers, discovery, dispositive motions, and trial materials.
- Attend court hearings as required.
- Provide legal and regulatory risk analysis and advice.
- Stay current with state and federal consumer laws and local rules.
- Independently develop litigation strategies compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Pennsylvania is required.
- Background in civil litigation with experience attending court proceedings.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws with the ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
- Ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, and other legal documents.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize large volumes of information.
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Professional appearance and ability to represent clients positively.
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law, or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA.
- Experience in collection law and/or significant courtroom experience.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer.
- Frequent talking, hearing, and use of hands for typing and handling objects.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching above the shoulders.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to access and navigate all departments within the organization's facilities.
Work Environment
- This position is fully remote.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility to meet business needs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $75,000 to $85,000 per year.
