Overview
A consumer protection law firm based in the Financial District of New York City is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its practice in Ohio. The firm represents consumers who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of legal issues related to consumer protection, including transactional and civil litigation matters.
Location
- Remote position
- Candidates must be currently located in or around the Toledo, Ohio area
- Position requires travel for court appearances
Compensation
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Ohio
- Communicate with clients regarding their legal matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
- Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
- Conduct legal research on contract law and other consumer law issues
- Coordinate with the main office via telephone and electronic communication (e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
Requirements
- Admission to practice law in Ohio
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant law firm experience
- Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels
- Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
