The organization is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to join its practice in Michigan. This position involves a heavy workload and broad responsibilities, including transactional and civil litigation matters related to consumer protection.

Because the firm’s headquarters are in New York, the role requires communicating with the main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e.g., email, Microsoft Teams).

Location requirement: Candidates must be located in or within a commutable distance to Warren, MI to be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload of clients in Michigan
  • Communicate with clients regarding their matters
  • Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
  • Communicate with opposing parties to resolve and settle claims
  • Conduct legal research on contract law issues and other areas of consumer law
  • Travel for in-court appearances while working from home

Requirements

  • Currently admitted to practice law in Michigan
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels
  • Strong legal research skills (proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus)
