Overview

This role involves serving as an attorney supporting a high-growth Marketing Services division. The position requires a strong willingness to learn both legal and business aspects, with experience handling complex agreements across multiple industries including health, financial services, and AdTech.

The attorney will negotiate contracts directly with business clients for a variety of products and services such as marketing data services, SaaS, licensed software, consulting, professional services, and analytics. Contract types include professional services agreements, RFPs, RFQs, NDAs, evaluation agreements, standard terms and conditions, service level agreements, and master services agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop creative contract solutions that satisfy compliance requirements and align with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts across information security, compliance, sales, product marketing, corporate legal, and finance to successfully complete transactions.
  • Assist sales teams with ongoing client contract administration.
  • Advise management on contractual terms and associated risks.
  • Provide training to sales and other departments on contract issues and negotiation strategies.
  • Use sound judgment to facilitate deal execution efficiently while minimizing risk.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar of any U.S. state.
  • 2 to 5+ years of legal experience in an agency, in-house legal department, or contracts department.
  • Proven ability to communicate legal information clearly to non-legal professionals.
  • Direct experience negotiating key contract terms such as limitations of liability, indemnification, warranties, termination, and data security.
  • Experience aligning contract terms with revenue recognition requirements and accounting rules for various services including software and custom development projects.
  • Familiarity with state and federal privacy laws including FCRA, GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $100,649 - $174,459, determined by work location, skills, experience, and education.
