Overview
This role involves serving as an Associate Corporate Counsel on the Legal Marketing Team, focusing on expanding Spanish-language legal and marketing communications. The position requires combining legal expertise with bilingual fluency to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency across English and Spanish content. Collaboration with Legal, Marketing, Product, Customer Experience, and Compliance teams is essential to shape communications for a growing global audience and to enhance efficiency through innovative translation solutions and emerging technology.
Responsibilities
- Review and advise on English and Spanish offer terms, marketing assets, and customer-facing messaging to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Act as the in-house legal translation expert by translating and reviewing legal content between English and Spanish, including contractual language, regulatory disclosures, consumer communications, and marketing materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver legally compliant communications that align with brand voice.
- Review and validate translations produced by outside counsel, vendors, and internal contributors to ensure consistency, quality, and accuracy.
- Develop, evaluate, and improve AI-assisted translation tools, such as ChatGPT and Amazon Web Services Comprehend, to support high-quality legal translations at scale.
- Provide counsel on marketing, advertising, promotional, and responsible gaming matters, assisting teams in navigating evolving legal requirements.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school with active membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Minimum of 2 years of legal experience, preferably in marketing, intellectual property, regulatory, consumer protection, or advertising matters.
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish with professional legal translation certification (e.g., American Translators Association certification), an equivalent credential, or the ability to obtain certification.
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce precise, accurate legal translations in both English and Spanish.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
- Enthusiasm for applying emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve legal translation quality and operational efficiency.
Compensation & Benefits
- US base salary range: $141,600.00 - $177,000.00 annually.
- Additional compensation includes bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable.
- Salary range is determined by role, level, and location; individual pay is influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
