Overview

An organization specializing in decentralized oracle technology and blockchain infrastructure is seeking an experienced attorney to join their Banking and Capital Markets (BCM) team. This role involves leading negotiations of complex commercial and technology agreements with institutional financial players, top-tier banks, asset managers, broker-dealers, financial market infrastructures (FMIs), and Fortune 100 companies. The position offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of blockchain and traditional finance, supporting the expansion of blockchain-based financial services and the tokenization of real-world assets.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic legal partner to BCM, Product, Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure teams to facilitate delivery of critical technology services across the financial ecosystem.
  • Lead negotiations of complex commercial, technology, infrastructure integration, and data licensing agreements with traditional financial clients.
  • Negotiate strategic partnership agreements with major players in blockchain and real-world asset industries to develop joint go-to-market strategies while protecting intellectual property assets.
  • Apply knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to technology service providers for FMIs, including operational resilience, data protection, DORA, EBA outsourcing guidelines, and cybersecurity requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in legal practice, with foundational training at a top-tier law firm in corporate or transactional law.
  • At least 3 years of in-house legal experience at a technology company, focusing on structuring and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Proven track record of independently leading complex commercial and corporate transactions, particularly in technology, payments, and finance sectors.
  • Solid background in financial services, including experience working with or within regulated financial services firms and familiarity with financial regulations applicable to digital assets.
  • Licensed to practice law or equivalent qualification in the US or UK, or possession of an LLM from these jurisdictions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with digital asset regulation, blockchain infrastructure, and tokenized assets.
  • Experience supporting legal aspects of go-to-market strategies or cross-border technology deployments.
