Overview

An organization in the Telecommunications & Hardware sector is seeking an Associate General Counsel specializing in U.S. Government Affairs and Regulatory matters. This role involves shaping policy and regulatory strategies to support company objectives, collaborating cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes, and influencing both strategy and execution in a high-growth environment.

Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $195,000 – $308,500 annually

Responsibilities

  • Shape the U.S. policy and regulatory landscape to align with organizational goals
  • Evaluate key developments in policy and regulation for potential impacts
  • Develop strong company positions and adaptable strategies
  • Create advocacy materials to effectively communicate the company’s positions
  • Collaborate with external counsel to align advocacy efforts with company interests
  • Engage with government agencies and various stakeholders to advance company interests
  • Represent company interests at spectrum-related international conferences and trade associations
  • Prepare applications for new spectrum access and operating authorities
  • Conduct legal research and prepare analyses for internal stakeholders
  • Support litigation and contested proceedings as necessary

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in government and regulatory affairs, with at least 5 years focused on FCC matters preferred
  • Strategic thinker with strong advocacy skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects under pressure
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective engagement with partners and regulators
  • Proactive and adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the technology industry or satellite communications (SATCOM)
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks
  • Proficiency with government policy analysis tools, legal research databases, and spectrum management systems
