Overview
An organization in the Hospitals & Medical Centers sector is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their legal team. This role involves providing legal support across business operations, managing corporate governance, and handling high-impact agreements. The position offers remote work for US-based candidates only, with no visa sponsorship available.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance across various business functions
- Lead internal efforts to identify and resolve legal issues
- Manage corporate governance and equity plan administration
- Negotiate significant agreements and oversee dispute management
- Collaborate with Human Resources on claims
- Draft and update company policies and procedures
- Work with finance teams on internal controls and audits
- Oversee daily management of the intellectual property portfolio
- Serve as Secretary to the 401(k) Committee
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state
- Minimum of seven years of legal experience, preferably including both law firm and in-house roles
- Healthcare law experience is a plus
- Strong legal research, writing, and editing skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
- Self-starter with the ability to balance risk and agility
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
- Familiarity with contract management software (e.g., DocuSign, Concord)
- Knowledge of compliance management tools for state and federal law adherence
- Understanding of data privacy frameworks and tools
- Experience with intellectual property management software
- Familiarity with financial management tools (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) to support audits and financial controls
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $250,000 – $275,000
