Overview
A legal position is available within the West Region Network Legal Team supporting the development and management of a major healthcare provider network. This role involves negotiating provider contracts, managing pre-litigation disputes, and supporting enterprise-wide initiatives related to provider networks, including affordability projects and new product expansions. The position offers remote work flexibility anywhere in the U.S., with a requirement for in-office presence at least four days per week for hires in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for network markets in the West Region, including California
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals across the organization
- Counsel leadership on structuring and executing relationships with healthcare providers
- Draft and negotiate complex contracts with large healthcare provider partners
- Manage dispute resolution, support arbitration proceedings, and draft settlement agreements
- Develop deep knowledge of the healthcare industry and provider network operations
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate degree
- Licensed to practice law in one or more states
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience as an attorney
- Experience advising senior leadership on legal matters
- Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex contracts
- Experience working in highly regulated industries
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a legal team
- Strong work ethic and proven ability to deliver results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to evaluate legal options to meet business needs
- Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships internally and externally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing pre-litigation matters
- Familiarity with capitated provider arrangements and contracts
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory agencies
- Understanding of healthcare benefit coverage, health insurance, and managed care industry
- Knowledge of relevant federal and West Region state laws and regulations
- Compliance with telecommuting policies for remote employees
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $134,600 to $230,800 annually (full-time basis), dependent on location, education, experience, and certifications

Location
Remote work is permitted from anywhere within the U.S. However, employees hired in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. must work onsite at least four days per week.
