Overview
This role involves serving as an Associate Legal Counsel within the Legal Mandates Office, providing legal advice and analysis related to new laws impacting the healthcare industry. The position requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and legal teams to ensure compliance with evolving federal, state, and local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze newly enacted and amended laws, regulations, and legal guidance affecting healthcare businesses, products, services, and corporate functions.
- Conduct legal research and interpret laws to determine their applicability to the enterprise.
- Report and communicate new legal requirements to internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Legal Counsel and specialized attorneys on legal and regulatory compliance matters.
- Provide practical and sound legal advice to internal clients regarding enterprise-wide implementation of new legal requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, healthcare company, or judicial clerkship.
- Admission to practice law in at least one state and membership in good standing with the applicable state bar association(s).
- Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctorate required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare sectors such as insurance, pharmacy services, retail pharmacies, walk-in medical clinics, and/or pharmacy benefit management.
- Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations including the Affordable Care Act, Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act, State Insurance and Healthcare Laws, ERISA, CMS/IRS/DOL rules relating to health plans, and HIPAA.
Compensation & Benefits
- Typical pay range: $130,295.00 - $260,590.00 annually.
- Actual salary offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors.
