Overview
A global organization in the sharing economy sector is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel based in Seoul, Korea. This role supports the Korea Legal Team and collaborates closely with regional and global legal colleagues, providing legal guidance across various business functions.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted legal partner to fast-paced business teams.
- Provide clear, practical legal advice on regulatory matters, consumer protection, competition, marketing, employment, privacy, dispute resolution, and law enforcement.
- Make balanced legal risk assessments that align with business priorities.
- Collaborate extensively with legal and non-legal teams across the region and globally.
- Support business development, public policy, marketing, and communications teams with legal expertise.
Requirements
- Qualified to practice law in Korea.
- Native-level proficiency in Korean (written and oral).
- Business-level proficiency in English (written and oral).
- 2-5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in-house at a multinational corporation or startup, or secondment from a law firm, is a plus.
- Ability to deliver creative, business-oriented legal solutions balancing growth and risk.
- Tech-forward mindset with willingness to leverage AI tools to enhance legal productivity.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and listening skills.
- Proactive, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Empathetic, caring, and humble demeanor.
- Willingness to travel internationally occasionally (approximately once a year).
