Overview
This role supports the legal needs of an advertising technology (ad-tech) business, with a focus on product, privacy, and ads. You will counsel product, engineering, and marketing teams on privacy, consumer protection, and content regulation matters in the ad-tech space.
The organization is seeking an Associate Legal Counsel, Product & Privacy, Ads, reporting to the Deputy General Counsel for Product & Privacy.
Responsibilities
- Advise ads engineering and product teams on legal and regulatory issues throughout the product development lifecycle (including an SSP and a DSP business and other related products and services).
- Counsel on privacy and data protection matters related to ad tech, ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Advise on content regulation matters, including ads content policies and enforcement, to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Advise on marketing matters related to the B2B ads business.
- Monitor and provide guidance on evolving international privacy, consumer protection, and technology regulations in the ad-tech space.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement risk management strategies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal experience in product counseling and privacy counseling in the ad-tech space, including experience directly advising software product managers and engineers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience advising software product managers and engineers on consumer protection matters.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Membership in at least one state bar.
Preferred Qualifications
Compensation & Benefits
- US-based salary range: $129,000 to $190,000.
- Final salary determination considers background, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Base pay may vary based on geographic location (US work locations fall into one of three geographic tiers).
- Total compensation is inclusive of equity compensation in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), plus a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits.
