Overview
This position involves managing a diverse caseload from inception through resolution, providing strategic legal counsel and representation in court, arbitrations, and depositions. The role requires strong legal research, drafting, and litigation skills, along with the ability to collaborate closely with partners and clients in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate demonstrates independence, clear communication, and a commitment to meeting a 1,950-hour annual billable requirement.
Responsibilities
- Review files and conduct legal analysis of claims and causes of action
- Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs
- Represent clients in court, at arbitrations, and in depositions
- Draft and respond to discovery requests
- Retain and collaborate with expert witnesses
- Prepare for and attend trials
- Collaborate with partners, clients, and stakeholders to deliver strategic and practical legal advice
- Manage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independence
Required Qualifications
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in state posted (required); additional bar admissions a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in practice group
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Experience with administrative proceedings, depositions, and mediations
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Professional demeanor with strong client-relations and communication skills
- Must be responsive and organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
