Attorney

Overview

A legal team is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Attorney to provide expert legal counsel primarily focused on consumer collection matters. This role involves leading and managing a team of support staff within the state.

This is a full-time remote position.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in court through direct appearances
• Oversee, review, and approve pleadings and motions prepared by the team
• Manage case strategy and maintain oversight of the case portfolio
• Train and supervise support staff
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and organizational standards
• Collaborate closely with other attorneys, staff, and leadership

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
• Active admission to practice law in the State of California
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in collection litigation, including consumer and/or commercial cases
• Strong knowledge of consumer protection statutes such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and the Rosenthal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a heavy caseload for self and team

Preferred Qualifications

• Admission to practice law in additional states
• Ability to speak Spanish (preferred but not required)
