Overview

This role involves practicing employment-based immigration law with a focus on guiding clients through complex immigration matters from start to finish. The position offers ownership of cases, strategic legal work, and client relationship management supported by advanced technology designed to enhance efficiency without replacing legal judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage immigration cases across the full employer immigration spectrum or specialize in areas such as H-1B, L-1A/B, TN, E-1/E-2/E-3, O-1A, EB-1C, EB-2 NIW, and PERM labor certification.
  • Own matters from initial handoff through final submission, including building legal strategies and managing milestones.
  • Provide strategic consulting by assessing prospects, building trust, and setting clear expectations.
  • Oversee client relationships throughout case lifecycles and supervise paralegals in document collection, organization, and filing logistics.
  • Advise employers and employees on petition strategies, RFE responses, and compliance obligations, including managing high-volume employer accounts and HR contacts.
  • Utilize AI tools and technology to enhance case quality and efficiency as a performance multiplier.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active U.S. bar admission.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment-based immigration law, including nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters such as H-1B, L-1A/B, TN, E-3, O-1A, EB-1C, EB-2 NIW, and PERM labor certification.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, capable of explaining complex legal concepts in plain language and supporting HR contacts and beneficiaries.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and case handoffs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Experience Levels

  • Associate (0–3 years): Focus on research, writing, organization, responsiveness, and a genuine interest in employer immigration. Paralegal, clinic, or corporate law experience is a plus.
  • Mid-Senior Level Associate (4–7 years): Hands-on experience with H-1B, PERM, or intracompany transfers; comfortable working directly with HR contacts; proactive ownership of cases.
  • Senior Associate (8+ years): Deep expertise across employer immigration; trusted strategic advisor to client HR and legal leadership; potential for practice leadership roles.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $115,000 to $215,000 USD, reflecting base compensation. Additional components such as bonuses or equity may apply.
  • Compensation is determined by factors including location, experience, education, skills, and role scope.
  • The position is remote-first and open to candidates located in the United States; candidates outside the U.S. may apply with compensation assessed regionally.
  • No billable hour requirements; work is evaluated based on outcomes and client experience.
