Overview
This role involves handling sophisticated corporate immigration cases with a focus on high-skilled visa petitions such as EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, and O-1A. The position offers the autonomy to manage a full caseload while leveraging advanced technology to streamline administrative tasks, allowing attorneys to focus on legal strategy and client relationships.
Responsibilities
- Manage individual immigration cases from initial handoff through to filing-ready submission, with oversight from a Managing Attorney.
- Maintain a full production caseload of approximately 35-40 active matters.
- Own client relationships throughout the lifecycle of each case, ensuring clients are well-informed and updated proactively.
- Utilize AI-powered tools and technology for case management, including automated handoffs, draft tracking, and centralized case context.
- Work exclusively on case production without handling client consultations, which are managed by consulting associates.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active U.S. bar admission.
- Minimum of 3 years of practicing attorney experience with hands-on work in EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, O-1A, H-1B, or family- and marriage-based immigration matters.
- Strong writing skills and rigor in handling extraordinary-ability and high-skilled petition work.
- Proven client management skills, taking full ownership of client relationships.
- Ability to independently manage cases from start to finish without direct supervision.
- Comfortable working as an independent contractor (1099) with a full, exclusive production caseload.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a solo practitioner is welcome.
- Ability to bring in cases independently is a plus, with higher compensation for self-originated matters.
Engagement Details
- This is a contract, case production role paid per case rather than hourly or salaried.
- Engagement is as an independent contractor (1099/W-9), exclusively for the duration of the contract.
- No benefits or paid time off are provided.
- Cases are assigned and sourced by the organization, but attorneys may also bring their own cases.
- Self-originated cases receive higher pay rates.
- The practice operates on aggressive service level agreements and high legal quality standards.
- For solo practitioners, this is a co-counsel model providing administrative, billing, and marketing support.
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation is paid per case, with a full caseload equivalent to an annual salary of approximately $150,000 to $190,000+, depending on case volume and complexity.
- No billable hour requirements; work is evaluated based on outcomes and client experience.
