Overview
A growing litigation and arbitration funding business is seeking a legal professional based in the United States, preferably located in Washington, D.C., New York, or Miami. This role focuses on international arbitration, litigation, and complex disputes, combining legal expertise with business development.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate litigation and arbitration opportunities from both legal and commercial perspectives.
- Assess merits of potential investments, including legal strategy, evidence, damages, procedural risks, timing, and expected returns.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with law firms, corporate clients, arbitrators, and industry stakeholders.
- Originate new opportunities to contribute to portfolio growth.
- Represent the organization at conferences, industry events, and meetings in the U.S. and internationally.
- Collaborate closely with investment and legal teams across Latin America and Europe.
Requirements
- Based in the United States, preferably Washington, D.C., New York, or Miami.
- Full professional proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Additional language skills in Portuguese, French, German, or Italian are a strong plus.
- Willingness to travel across jurisdictions.
- Strong professional network within the international arbitration ecosystem across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.
- Experience in commercial and/or investment arbitration, complex litigation, or dispute resolution.
- Previous work experience at a leading law firm, arbitration boutique, or in-house legal team.
- Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with partners, general counsel, and senior executives.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to combine legal analysis and commercial judgment.
- Proactive, autonomous, and able to take ownership of projects.
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and international environment.
