Overview

A Los Angeles-area national defense litigation law firm is seeking a California Bar–licensed Defense Litigation Attorney with 10+ years of litigation and trial experience. This is a permanent, full-time position handling defense litigation matters on a day-to-day basis.

Responsibilities

  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda of law, discovery requests and responses, and legal correspondence
  • Handle all aspects of discovery, including taking fact and expert witness depositions
  • Prepare for and attend arbitrations and trial
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials
  • Conduct legal research and draft filings as needed
  • Communicate clearly, orally and in writing, with clients and colleagues

Requirements

  • 10+ years of litigation experience at a defense law firm
  • Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Strong knowledge and experience in defense litigation
  • Proficiency in drafting and filing motions
  • Experience representing clients in courts, including trial experience
  • Ability to conduct depositions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple cases
  • Highly motivated and able to thrive in a client-service-driven law firm setting
  • Outstanding references

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $160,000 to $225,000
  • Pay is based on multiple factors including work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location
  • Eligible for bonuses and equity compensation
