Overview
A Southern California-based boutique law firm is seeking a California-licensed litigation attorney with trial experience to assist on defense-side personal injury matters. This is a contract/engagement role offering flexible, part-time remote work without a specific hours requirement, ideal for attorneys looking to work on their own schedule.
Responsibilities
- Handle personal injury cases in California state court as first or second chair with trial experience
- Draft and review pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motions, and prepare for hearings
- Manage casework in an organized and responsive manner suited to flexible, engagement-based assignments
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Trial experience in personal injury cases in California state court
- Experience drafting and reviewing pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, and hearings
- Ability to work approximately 15–30 hours per week, flexible based on candidate preference
- Strong organizational skills and responsiveness
- Outstanding professional references
Position Details

Compensation & Benefits
- Annualized pay ranges from $225,000 to $325,000 on a full-time basis, with contract pay rates determined by experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market factors, and candidate preferences
- Contract attorneys are W2 employees eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including a Qualified 401(k) plan
- Benefits include complimentary Group Life, Long-Term Disability (LTD), Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D), and professional liability insurance
- CLE and professional expense stipends are provided
