Overview
This role is for experienced legal leaders who want to transition their people leadership expertise into coaching. Coaches form 1:1 partnerships with members to help them set and track clear goals, improve leadership and communication, solve workplace issues, and build greater fulfillment and engagement at work.
All coaches participate in an ICF-certified coach training program to learn the organization’s coaching methodology before working with members.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 coaching to members through virtual sessions using the organization’s platform and tools
- Participate in ongoing training sessions to continually improve coaching abilities and skills
- Communicate with members between sessions via email or chat in the app
- Contribute to the coaching community by sharing coaching tools and insights to enhance coaching practices
- Demonstrate kindness, respect, and empathy as an ambassador of the coaching community
Requirements
- Experience as a General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer, or other senior legal executive with 20+ years leading legal teams at or adjacent to the technology industry
- Experience coaching individuals (coaching certification is a plus, but not required)
- Ability and desire to translate people leadership skills into coaching
- Passion for helping people advance in the workplace to build fulfilling careers and lives
- Self-awareness and a high emotional IQ; able to create a safe space for others to take risks and be vulnerable
- Commitment to ongoing growth as a coach with a growth mindset
- Comfort working in a constantly-changing startup environment
- Ability to dedicate a minimum of 12+ hours per month to coaching for the next 24+ months
Other Details
- Contract role; coaches are paid per hour
- In addition to a flat hourly rate, select bonuses are available to incentivize engagement with membership and community growth on the platform
- Minimum availability: 3 to 5 hours per week toward the role regardless of other commitments and how they may change
- Minimum engagement: 24 months to build meaningful relationships with members
- Fully remote
- Candidates must be based in North America or Europe
Hiring Process & Training
- New coaches must participate in and graduate from the ICF-certified coach training program
- The organization matches coaches with members after training completion
- Offers are sent only when there is an immediate need based on incoming member demand (candidates may be offered the next monthly training or added to a shortlist)
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly contract compensation (plus select bonuses as described above)
